On April 13th, 2015 Finance Minister Joe Oliver released an update to the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card industry in Canada. There were 3 new elements to the Code dealing primarily with improved transparency between merchants and consumers for Point of Sale (POS) services and provisions that apply specifically to mobile payments.
Although the changes to the Code do not impact our ATM debit network, as a Participant of the Payment Card Network Operators Group we are working closely with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada to ensure we fully support the revised code.
